Kansas City, MO (June 22, 2020) – A street racing incident turned deadly early Sunday, claiming one victim’s life in Kansas City. At approximately 2:30 a.m., on June 21, the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department responded to the scene of an automobile accident on Main Street.
According to reports from witnesses, a black Ford Focus was racing down Main Street at a high rate of speed. As the vehicle passed through the intersection of Main Street and 43rd Street, it struck a female pedestrian who was attempting to cross the road in a designated crossing area. The driver then fled the scene of the accident, leaving the victim at the intersection.
When emergency crews arrived to the scene, the woman had already passed away from her injuries. The vehicle was later discovered a few blocks from the accident. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
